Decorate for Halloween Without Breaking the Bank!

Halloween is so much fun! Children just love to decorate and of course trick or treat at super spooky houses! But the fact that it's become so commercialized and the decorations in the store are just so expensive make it difficult for everyone to be able to afford fancy decorations. So, what do you do when you can't afford them but really want them?

Make your own! The old fashioned way of crafting your home for the holidays is in demand! More and more people are making their own decorations, because it's so much cheaper and it really doesn't take a lot of time! Below are several homemade decorations that will take only minutes to create and will cost so little, you can't not make them!

Hanging Ghosts ~ Visit your local dollar store (or your linen closet) for plain white pillow cases and wire clothes hangers. Cut a small hole in the top part of your pillowcase (the part that is closed) and slide your clothes hanger up from the bottom (open part of the pillowcase) and put the hook through the small hole.

Then while holding the top of the hook, pull gently down on the clothes hanger to form a diamond shape. Then using a string or twist tie, tie the bottom of the pillow case, and draw on a face with a black marker. Hang them around the house on trees, your porch or anwhere inside.

Hanging Bats ~ Cut a bat shape out of a plain black garbage bag and add a twist tie or a piece of ribbon to the top to hang it

Lollipop Centerpiece ~ Draw a scray face onto a medium sized pumpkin with black marker or paint, then poke small holes in the top and add any kind of lollipops!

Scarecrow~ This is the absolute easiest one! Take an old pair of jeans nad a flannel shirt and stuff them with leaves and hay, then draw a scary face on an old piece of burlap. Youc an either put a stake in the ground for him to lean on or hang your scarecrow in a tree with a piece of rope.

You can also purchase a bag of quilt batting at your local dollar store, string this around the house and yard for a spider web effect! Add small plastic spiders and skeletons to really spook the neighbors!
