Homemade Milk Bath Recipe

Patti Winters
Making gifts is a great way to make your holiday season more economical and less stressful. This homemade milk bath will be a great gift for birthdays, Christmas, baby showers (new mom's can use the relaxation), bridal showers, or just a thank you or I'm thinking of you gift. Not only will the gift recipient appreciate your time, you will also be able to customize the fragrance and packaging of your milk bath.

Most of these ingredients are available at your local grocery store. Essential oils can be purchased from health food stores. Lavender essential oil is my favorite for this recipe, but many other oils or combinations can be used also. Decorative bottles can be found in many discount or craft stores and a pretty ribbon makes the presentation complete. If you would like to make a gift basket out of this you can add a bathing puff, relaxing music on a CD, and a candle.

Ingredients:

1 cup Powdered Milk
1/2 cup Epsom Salts
1 tablespoon Baking Soda
1 tablespoon Cornstarch
5-10 drops of your favorite Essential Oil (optional)

Directions:

1. Combine the Powdered Milk, Epsom Salts, Baking Soda, and Cornstarch in a mixing bowl. Mix thoroughly with a whisk.
2. Add Essential Oil and mix again with the whisk, making sure to break up any clumps that may have occurred.
3. Pour mixture into decorative jars or bottles.
4. Label the mixture with the following directions: Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of milk bath mixture directly into bath, soak for 20 minutes, and enjoy.
