Homemade Natural Lip Gloss Recipes

Ruth Carter
In an effort to become more economical as well as eco-friendly, many people are beginning to make some of their own health and beauty supplies at home from ingredients that will not hurt the body or the environment. Lip gloss is one of those products that can be made in one's abode with just a few inexpensive supplies and minimal labor. The way that your lips feel after using these glosses is another excellent benefit. In this article, I provide three of my favorite homemade natural lip gloss recipes. These lip glosses make great gifts and are fun to concoct with your friends and family.

Vanilla Lip Gloss

1 tablespoon of grated beeswax

1 tablespoon of coconut oil

1/4 teaspoon of Vitamin E

1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Gently melt the beeswax, coconut oil, and Vitamin E in a small pot over medium heat. Add vanilla extract and remove from heat. Pour into approximately four small clear pill boxes. Allow to cool, and enjoy soft, silky lips.

Honey and Almond Lip Gloss

1 tablespoon of grated beeswax

7 teaspoons of almond oil

1 teaspoon of honey

Gently melt and mix the beeswax and almond oil together in a pot over medium-low heat. Add honey and whisk it into the oil and wax. Remove the mixture from heat, and pour into small clear pill boxes. Allow to cool, and enjoy moist, soft lips. This recipe is probably my most favorite one.

Chocolate and Coconut Lip Gloss

1 tablespoon of grated beeswax

1 tablespoon of coconut oil

5-6 chocolate chips

1 capsule of Vitamin E (pop open the capsule and squirt out the contents)

Place beeswax, coconut oil, chocolate chips, and Vitamin E into a pot and blend them over low to medium heart until smooth. Pour the mixture into a glass baby food jar or some small round pill boxes and refrigerate to solidify. Enjoy the scent as well as the feel of your lips.

Give these three wonderful natural lip gloss recipes a try. You will be helping to be kind not only to the environment but also your body, and you will save a little extra cash as well.
