Homemade NCIS Abby Sciuto Halloween Costume

Karen Barnes
If you're an Abby Sciuto fan, making a costume for Halloween should be easy. Her Goth look is something that can be replicated.

There are some things you need to get to put together the Homemade Halloween Abby Sciuto costume. I have put together a short and easy list of items needed. Then I explain how to dress yourself like Abby Sciuto of NCIS

Items Needed for a Homemade NCIS Abby Sciuto Halloween Costume

Knee High Black Belted Platform Boots - If you can't find this style of boots, any black platform knee high boots.

Fish Net Stockings - Abby wears fish net stocking with many of her outfits on NCIS. These can be found at most any store this time of year.

Black Mini Skirt - A black mini skirt with pleats and white stripes is the type of skirt Abby wears often on the show. On occasion, she wears a plain black pleated mini skirt.

Black T-shirt - A black capped sleeve T-shirt with some girly figure on the front is one she wears often. I have seen her in one with a pink kitty with a bow several times.

Goth Jewelry - Generally she wears Goth rings, bracelets, and a choker. The bracelets either have spikes or grommet holes. The choker is often a spike one.

Spider Web Tattoo - A spider tattoo you can press on the right hand side of your neck is one that you need. If you can't find the spider web tattoo by itself and find one similar, you can use that. Read the instructions on when it needs to be put on. For instance before or after you have dressed. Some of them may need to dry.

Pony Tail Holders - You will need two of these to put your hair in pony tails on the top of your head. Bangs would be a great addition to the costume since she wears them.

Red Lipstick and Black Nail Polish - She wears a deep red lipstick and black nail polish.

Black Eyeliner and Mascara - She wears both in the show.

Putting on The NCIS Abby Sciuto Homemade Halloween Costume

You will want to polish your fingernails in the black fingernail polish hours before getting dressed. This way you won't smear it while getting your Halloween costume on. If you do smear it, you will have time to fix it.

Put on all the pieces of clothes you have acquired. Put on the platform boots and Goth jewelry you have bought or borrowed. The rings can be any type of Goth. As I haven't seen a real trend of ones she wears. The bracelets and choker vary in width and spikes in each episode.

Put your hair in ponytails on the op of your head. Comb bangs down above your eyes. Even if you don't have black hair, you could still fix your hair like hers. For those who want to go all out, you could dye your hair black with a hair coloring that will wash out after shampooing your hair several times. You could also buy a black wig and cut it shoulder length to create your costume.

Put on regular foundation, eyeshadow, and blush. Put on the eyeliner, mascara and lipstick.

As for the spider web tattoo on the back of your neck, you will need someone to put that one on for you. Read what I mentioned about the tattoo under the materials needed for this Halloween costume.

You can search for her character if you want a look at how Abby Sciuto dresses on NCIS. There are several photos online.

For a full catalog of Abby’s gothic jewelry, outfits, favourite accessories + a hair & make-up lesson delivered in video by actress Pauley Perrette herself, search for “Lookbook Abby Sciuto, NCIS saison 8”. Though the article is written in french, the photo albums are really inspiring !

If anyone wants an Abby ID you can print the one I made: http://bit.ly/ncis-abby
Just download, print and mount on cardboard! Prints well in black & white too.

I used one of those ID badge clips, and cut a hole in the top. Worked perfect. =)

Forgot about the day in court and also remembered when one of the directors tried to make her dress "normal". That wasn't a good thing.

For id, I am just putting a (home-made) NCIS patch on the lab-coat. Abby showed ID to get in to see (Gibbs?) in the hospital, and it was made on the day she testified in court. Her hair is not pig-tailed, and she wore a pale suit.
I found a good sample for the neck tattoo (if it isn't in the materials needed)

I may wear at least one rubber glove.

Oh yes, you have to have that and her labcoat. Also, don't forget her Kaf-Pow.
