1 cup of sour cream
1 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon of parsley flakes
2 teaspoons of dried dill
1 tablespoon of dry green onions or chives
2 teaspoons of curry powder
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
Combine together in serving bowl and chill until it is time to serve. Serve with baby carrots, celery sticks, broccoli spears and any other veggies you and your family prefer. Refrigerate when not in use. Makes about 2-1/4 cups.
Cherry Cream Dip with Fresh Fruit
1 cup of whipped cream
1/2 cup of vanilla yogurt
2 tablespoons of granulated sugar
2 tablespoons of cherry kirsch (or you can substitute with cherry juice)
8 cups mixed fresh fruit, cut into cubes
Chill until it is time to serve and make sure to refrigerate when not in use. Cherries, strawberries, apples, melons and almost any fruit you desire can be used with this dip. Crushed pecans can also be sprinkled on top of this fruit dip for an added crunch and texture. Makes about 1-1/2 cups.
Barbecue Sauce
1 can (8 ounces) of tomato sauce
1 teaspoon sugar (or brown sugar - whichever you prefer)
1/2 cup water
1/3 cup lemon juice
1 teaspoon salt
1 onion, finely chopped (or dried minced onions can be substituted)
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons of paprika
Combine in a medium size saucepan and bring to a boil, uncovered. Remove from heat and cool. Refrigerate after partially cooled if desired, or can be served warm. Drizzle over chicken wings or use as a dipping sauce. Refrigerate for up to 5 days. Makes about 2-1/4 cups.
Velveeta/Salsa Dip
1 big block of Velveeta processed cheese
1 jar (8-12 ounces) of medium or mild salsa
Cut up the block of cheese into small cubes and then place into a large microwavable bowl. Cook in microwave for about 1 minute on about 70% power and then stir. Put it back in the microwave for another minute and then take out to stir. Repeat this process until all of the cheese cubes are melted and can be easiy stirred. Make sure the temperature does not get too hot and start scorching the cheese. Slowly fold the salsa into the cheese mixture, then put back in the microwave for another 30 seconds or so. Stir again and serve warm with tortilla chips. If the mixture comes out a bit thick or thickens while standing, a few tablespoons of milk can be added; stir lightly and put back in microwave for a few seconds. Chips can even be warmed up in an oven on 325 for 2-5 minutes depending on your oven.
