Homemade Photo Christmas Cards Made Simple

Making homemade Christmas cards is a fun way to spend time with your family and give something unique this holiday season. There are also a variety of different ways to personalize these cards. One of my favorites are the photo Christmas cards. Not only are these items simple to make but are inexpensive. Our family personalizes these homemade Christmas cards by using family portraits and snapshots taken from around the house.

Materials needed for photo holiday cards are usually right in your home. This may include a printer, paper, and of course, the photos you desire to put on the card. While I typically put pictures of my children on these cards, there are many other photo ops that can be used. Homemade Christmas cards with the family pet or friends are also quite popular. Once you have selected the desired photos and paper for your homemade Christmas cards, you can start making them.

Depending on your computer skill level, you may not need to use the templates that are downloaded from the internet to create photo Christmas cards. However, if you prefer to do this there are various sites online including Vista Print and Photo Card Maker that offer free templates for photo Christmas cards. To do it yourself, you will have to adjust the alignment for print on your computer. To avoid mistakes, I input the text, print , and then proceed to add the photo to the card. Choose the 4x6 setting for the photo and fold the paper lengthwise and width wise. Insert and print.

This method of making homemade Christmas cards is great for making a few. However, if you anticipate making several photo Christmas cards you may find it more convenient to use the online templates for your Christmas cards or by printing in one step. For numerous photo Christmas cards, it may be best to cut, copy, and paste the photo prior to printing. This also will allow you to preview what your cards will look like prior to printing.

Photo Christmas cards can be fun and easy to make for the whole family. It's a great way to spend time with loved one's while creating something that will be very meaningful. Children can even join in by helping to select photos and fold the cards. Homemade Christmas cards can further be personalized for each individual recipient by adding your own personal touch.
