Homemade remedies are quite useful when you have minor illnesses and for which you do not wish to go to the doctor. There are very useful remedies for calming an upset stomach which have been used for years and years and have been truthful to their name. Most of the people believe that homemade remedies are not trust worthy as they may cause you more problems. But most of the remedies include herbals or fresh fruits and vegetable to calm your pain or disease, which do not harm you in any way.

Peppermint: peppermint is a herb used worldwide to calm an upset stomach. You can either drink peppermint tea or use peppermint in your food or peppermint extract. The antioxidant nature of this herbs helps in digestion. It helps break down fats and may cause heartburn for a while as gastric activity worsens but in the end helps your stomach muscles relax.

Ginger: ginger is used as herbal remedy since ages. It is a very common herb found in Asian cuisine. It helps in aiding digestion, relieving diarrhoea and calming an upset stomach. Ginger tea and ginger ale are both proven homemade remedies in calming down an upset stomach.

Besides these there are many other homemade remedies for calming an upset stomach. Many fruits and vegetables have antioxidants that help reduce stomach pains, diarrhoea, nausea feeling and constipation. The antioxidants, help in making digestion process easy and reduces the acidic and toxic activities that are involved in an upset stomach. Besides this when you have a stomach problem try to relax and rest more. Take your full sleep, drink lots and lots of water so that you don't get dehydrated and eat healthy. Homemade remedies are widely used by almost every household and have proven to be beneficial without any side effects to be counted at all.
