Free Beauty Tips for Tired Eyes

The eyes are known as the window to the soul, and there is nothing worse than having them look tired, bloodshot and swollen. The best ways to avoid this is to keep away from excessive smoke, get plenty of sleep and drink plenty of water, but with lifestyles they way are today that's normally easier said than done. You could invest in an eye mask or you could try some of these easy and cost effective alternatives.

When I know I'm not going to get enough sleep and I am going to wake up looking rough then I get prepared. I make sure I have some fresh cucumber in the fridge. Cucumber is high in antioxidants and a slice on each eye for 10 - 15 minutes helps to reduce the puffiness and redness in tired eyes. Be aware that some people are allergic to cucumber though so if you are not sure test it on a bit of skin first.

No cucumber? Don't worry! An easy alternative, if you are well prepared, is to put some spoons in your fridge. Chilled spoons on the eyes for a few minutes not only reduce the signs of tiredness in your eyes but also are very effective at waking up a sluggish brain in the morning.

An effective 3rd alternative is to use cold tea bags. Place one on each eye for around 15 minutes. Any kind of tea bag does the trick but I have found that Chamomile tea bags are the best.

Free beauty tips for your lips

The best thing I have found for my lips is Vaseline. A lot of people make the mistake of treating their lips as they do the skin on their face, when in fact the lips are not anything like that skin at all. The technical term for the lips is the vermilion boarder and they are actually an extension of the "skin" that is inside our mouths. This means that they have much fewer layers of skin on them causing the blood vessels to be closer to the surface giving our lips that lovely rosy color. Unfortunately this also means that our lips are a lot more prone towards drying out due to both the heat and the cold. This is where Vaseline comes in.

Smear some on your lips before you go to bed and it will rehydrate and plumb up your lips overnight. (Vaseline also is great to put on your eyelids when you're in a rush and want that bright eyed look, with a quick swish of black mascara on the eyelids it quick, easy and very effective)

Free Beauty tips for your hair

There are lots of great products out there to keep your hair feeling and looking great, but there are just as many inexpensive ways to look after it. My hair changes color drastically in the summer where it changes from a light mahogany brown to a rich blonde so I have some ways of keeping both the colour rich and hair healthy that doesn't cost me the earth.

Free Beauty tips to make dull hair shine

For lighter-colored hair just add ¼ cup of lemon juice in ½ a cup of water to your final rinse. Not only does this help the hair shine but also helps lighten it and leaves it smelling great.

For darker-colored hair use ¼ cup of vinegar added to ½ cup of water to your final rinse. Vinegar also acts as a great residue free soap for dreadlocked hair.

If your hair is really dry, mix together 4 tablespoons of regular mayonnaise, 1 egg and 1 tablespoon of baking soda. Rub it into your hair and cover it all up with a shower cap. After half an hour wash it out with lukewarm water and your hair will feel soft and look glossy.

Free Beauty Tips for your nails

Lemon juice is not only good for your hair. To keep my nails strong and healthy I rub in some lemon rind and leave it for around 10 minutes before washing it off with luke warm water. I also found that the strong lemony taste it leaves on my nails stops me from biting them.

Free Beauty Tips for your skin

Mix some honey with 1 crushed Avocado and 1 banana. This makes a suburb exfoliating body wash for the shower and can also be left on the skin for around 10 minutes for a fantastic face wash.

It leaves your skin invigorated, refreshed, smooth and smelling fantastic.

I know that people have an assortment of different remedies for curing puffy eyes. What I have to found to work best for me is an eye pillow, right out of the freezer. I use a peppermint scented one because it opens up my sinuses and that helps me to breathe a lot better and helps my sinuses drain. That alone helps bring down the puffiness. The cold flax seed inside the eye pillow surrounds my eyes and temples which not only brings the puffiness and swelling down but it's also very relaxing.

I searched online and found several sites that had them. The one I decided to go with was A Touch Of Satin. I liked them because their ingredients were organic, they had an unbelievably large selection of patterns and I like the feel of satin on my skin. They also had a page on their site that talked about the benefits of their aromatherapy scents. It was very interesting. If you want to check them out, their website is http://www.atouchofsatin.com Well, I hope this helps you. Good luck!
