A pot of gold centerpiece can be made easily using black felt, a bowl, glue, water, plastic wrap, and foil covered candy coins. Start this St. Patrick's Day project by placing the bowl upside down. Cover the bottom of the bowl with plastic wrap. Wet the felt and ring the water out so the fabric is damp. Then mix some water with the glue and use the paintbrush to cover the felt with the glue.

Place the felt on top of the bowl and mold it to take the same shape. After the felt has dried overnight remove it from the bowl. Use the scissors to cut the edge of the felt to make an even edge to the top of the felt bowl. Fill it with the gold coins and place this St. Patrick's Day centerpiece on the table.

St. Patrick's Day is known for shamrocks, and you can make a shamrock garden centerpiece that will last for many holidays to come. For this homemade decoration you will need green tissue paper, glue, wire, a piece of floral foam, scissors, rocks, and a bowl or flower pot.

Start this project by placing the foam inside the bowl. Cover it gently with a sheet of tissue paper. Make sure to stuff the excesses into the sides to hold the foam in place.

Then use the scissors to cut several small circles out of the tissue paper. Also cut two inch pieces from the wire. Add a drop of glue to the center of one circle. Place the wire in the center of the glue. Then place another piece on top. Press down to seal. Allow the glue to dry.

Twist 3 or 4 leaves together by the wire to make a shamrock. After several shamrocks are completed you can add them to the garden by pushing the wire into the foam. To finish this homemade centerpiece for St. Patrick's Day by add some rocks to the top of the foam.
