Shamrock Streamers
Shamrocks are very popular during this holiday, and you can make them into streamers using green construction paper, a pencil, scissors, a small plate, and glue. Start by finding a shamrock template online if you are not sure about how to draw a shamrock.
Then trace several shamrocks onto pieces of construction paper. Green patterned cardstock is also nice to use. Cut out the shamrocks and set aside. You can decorate them if you like. Then use the plate to trace a circle onto the paper. Then cut out the circle.
To make the homemade streamer you need to draw a spiral in the center of the circle. Make sure the end of the spiral is at the edge of the circle. Cut along the spiral so the stream can hang down. Glue the shamrock to the pointed end of the streamer, and use a tack to hang the other end on the ceiling when the glue has dried.
Rainbow Wall Hanging
For this homemade party decoration you will need construction paper in several colors, glue, scissors, and a pencil. You may also like to use a large bowl to create the rounded edge of the rainbow. Trace the bowl onto a red piece of paper so you have made a half circle. Then move the bowl down about 2 inches and trace the same curve.
Cut the curve out of the paper, and use it as a template to make the next layer. Place this layer on top of the orange and trace a curved line underneath it. Glue the paper together and cut along the line. Continue until you have used yellow, green, blue, and purple paper. When all of the glue is dry you can hang this homemade St. Patrick's Day party decoration.
Pot of Gold Garland
A fun garland can be made using gold cupcake liners, a stick, ribbon, scissors, glue, and a black marker. For this craft start by flattening out several cupcake liners. Also cut a very long piece of ribbon. Use the marker to write a St. Patrick's Day message on the cupcake liners. Use one letter per liner.
Then use the stick to draw dollar and cent symbols on the other gold liners. Glue the liners to the ribbon by sandwiching the ribbon in between the imprinted liner and a plain liner. When the glue has dried you can hang your banner.
These St. Patrick's Day party decorations will add that special homemade touch to your party.
