There are a lot of ways you can make homemade toys for your pet. You don't have to spend a lot of money on those expensive pet toys you find at the store. Don't worry, your pet won't mind.

One very easy toy that you can give your pet is an old sock to play with. Puppies especially enjoy playing with socks. You can tie knots at the ends or just have it without knots. Either way your pet will have a lot of fun playing with it.

For pet cats some old carpet make a great scratching post. You can use a staple gun or a hammer and nails and wrap around the carpet around a piece of wood. This is incredibly affordable and easy to do.

Old balls, such as a tennis or soft ball make great toys for dogs and sometimes even cats play with them.

Check your shed for old baby toys too. Noise makers are really fun for your pets. Just make sure they aren't easily broken or easy to come apart.

In the summertime you can fill an old kiddie pool or tub with water and let your pet play. Pets love to swim and get just about as much fun out of it as kids do.

Old stuff animals make great chew toys for your pets. You will want to inspect it for any tears or rips. It is also a good idea to remove any items that can be easily torn off and that could possibly create a choking hazard for your pet. You want their toys to be fun and not dangerous.

A empty plastic soda bottle makes a great toy for your pet. They love to play with it and chase it around the room. You can also put a few dog bones or smaller dog toys inside to make it a noise maker. Puppies love toys that make noise.

Most pets seem content to just play with boxes and wrappings that other things have come in. Of course if you allow them to play with these type of items you will need to inspect them regularly for tears or rips to avoid a big mess to clean up later. It may be a good idea to just let them play with those toys at that moment and then throw them away.

Here is a safety precaution. Whenever using cloth or plastic you have to be careful and keep a watch out for tears or rips that could harm your pet. You do not want them ingesting any broken or torn pieces.

Your can keep your pet active and entertained with homemade pet toys that won't cost you a fortune.
