My favorite homemade body scrub to make is my vanilla cocoa butter body scrub. This homemade body scrub is nourishing, hydrating and cleansing to the skin and body and will leave you feeling soft and silky smooth from head to toe. In addition, it is easy and affordable to make.
The natural ingredients needed to make the homemade vanilla cocoa butter body scrub are 2 cups of your favorite soft cocoa butter body cream, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, 3 tablespoons of honey and 3 ½ cups of brown sugar. All these ingredients you can find at the local grocery store if you do not have them on hand in your kitchen and bathroom cabinets.
To make the vanilla cocoa butter body scrub you will also need a large mixing bowl, a whisk and a large jar or storage container. You can easily find these materials at the dollars store or any kitchen shop if you don't have them hand already.
Now, to make the vanilla cocoa butter body scrub you will need to pour all the ingredients into the large mixing bowl and combine them together with the whisk until you get a thick creamy and gritty cocoa butter body scrub. If you find the body scrub isn't gritty enough add a couple more tablespoons of sugar until you get the gritty texture you desire. If you find the body scrub is to thick and gritty add in a few tablespoons of the creamy cocoa butter body cream until you get the texture you desire. For me I like my body scrub to be thick so it is easy to handle and really work into the skin to help exfoliate it well. Once the vanilla cocoa butter body scrub is made you may pour it into the jar or storage container you prefer and place the scrub near the bathtub or shower until you are ready to use it. The scrub should stay good for up to a week because the honey does act as a natural preservative.
When you are ready to use the vanilla cocoa butter body scrub simply get into the shower or bath and get the skin all warm and wet. Then take a handful or two of the body scrub and gentle massage it into the skin from head to toe using circular motions. I personally like to pour the scrub onto my bath sponge and massage it into my skin that way because I find the scrub to be gentler on my sensitive skin that way. Anyways, when you are using the scrub you will notice the lovely sweet soft vanilla cocoa butter scent this scrub has and how nourishing, exfoliating and cleansing it is to the skin and body. Once you have exfoliated your skin well you may rinse off with warm water, pat yourself dry with a warm cotton towel and apply your favorite cocoa butter body lotion afterwards to help prevent the skin from drying out throughout the day.
Now, to help maintain soft and silky skin you may use this homemade vanilla cocoa butter body scrub twice per week. I personally use it three to four times per week because my skin is always dry and flaky. If you have dry flaky skin continually like I do you might need to use this scrub more often too. Anyways, I do hope those of you who make and use my homemade vanilla cocoa butter body scrub enjoy the way it works with nourishing and softening your skin and body up from head to toe as mush as I do.

Post a CommentFabulous! I will be making this next week! I use to make my own soap, but that sort of fell by the way side. I need to pick up that fun hobby again! Thanks for the directions! :)
