Homes in Colonie New York, a Suburb of Albany

Regina Sass
The Town of Colonie is the largest suburb of Albany New York. Colonie is just 5 miles north west of Albany, making your commute a matter of minutes. Colonie is a suburb of mostly one family homes, most on lots of at least 1/4 acre. It also has plenty of park land, a great shopping mall and is an easy drive to a Great Adventures Water park, Saratoga Springs for the races every August and to resorts like Lake George. It gives the workers of Albany a county suburb life style as opposed to the city style, if that is what they wish.

There is a great variety of styles available in Colonie New York, but not a great number of homes. The residents like their town and only move if they have to, making Colonie a very stable community.

There is a lot of new construction going in Colonie New York giving you a wider choice of styles. You can choose from an historic Victorian built over 100years ago or a house that is not yet built yet and every thing in between.

Having a car is important in Colonie and that will be a deciding factor in choosing a location. Right in town is close to the everyday stores, a bit out of town and you need to drive and of course you need to drive to the mall. The price differential is not that great in Colonie. Most people should be able to afford at least 90% of what is available.

Come to Colonie New York and see what it has to offer. Take a test drive from Colonie to Albany if that is what you will have to do each day, and if you like what you see and feel at home, then make your move. If you see what you want go for it, you might not find another house to compare and you do want the perfect house for you
