Homes and Natural Landmarks in Costa Almeria, Spain
Neighborhood: Costa Almeria
A jaunt up through the southeast corner of Spain brings you to Costa de Almeria, a 200- km stretch of unspoiled beaches that serve as a shrine to sunshine and relaxation. Endless stretches of sand and waves interspersed with small villages and towns creates a primitive atmosphere conducive to long walks by the shoreline and adventures into the Spanish desert. Though not an area flush with tourist attractions, Costa de Almeria retains the rustic beauty and preternatural calm of days long past.

Naturist beaches span the north part of the area and barren deserts occur sporadically throughout the land. In one day, it is easy to experience the natural wonders of the rural Costa de Almeria while still reserving time to visit San Jose, the most popular coastal village.

Properties in Costa de Almeria consist of hilltop villas overlooking eternal crystalline waves and small-town bungalows that serve as one-two-and-three bedroom apartments. Real estate is cheaper here than in the busier Costa del Sol, though one must not mistake markdowns for poor quality. The Costa de Almeria possesses its own quiet charm, and while it lacks the hustle and bustle of some of the larger resort areas, its peacefulness far outweighs the populous.

Apartment homes range from as low as Î40,000 to nearly Î80,000, while town homes rest in the lower 130's. Hilltop villas range anywhere from Î200,000 to Î600,000, depending on locale and amenities. Many make excellent holiday homes where a family can rest for several weeks and enjoy the seemingly endless sunshine.

While you are here, it is important to visit the historical and political landmarks, which occur in great abundance. Almeria City is a must-see stopping point, which houses the renowned Alcazaba castle. The old fishing port of Adra is another amazing spectral, and here one can also find archeological museums and natural history displays.

Costa de Almeria is the perfect spot for adventure lovers, as the area is sparsely populated and the properties are widespread among hills and coves and other natural landmarks. One can spend hours lost in nature as he explores Costa de Almeria in search of relics left behind by settlers long ago. This unique "costa" reflects the natural wonders so frequently encountered in Spain, and to reside in this area gives promise to many years of adventure and excitement.
