Just because your children are homeschooled this does not mean that you can not make the homeschool environment even more enjoyable. So if you are planning on decorating your classroom for the Fall season there are several creative things that you can do. Below are several suggestions on how you can decorate your classroom for the Fall season. Keep in mind that you don't have to do every suggestion listed, just choose the ones that you and your children would prefer.
Leaves mean Fall
You can start by adding a little bit of leaf décor to your homeschool room. What is nice about this project is that you don't need a ton of fake leaves. All you need is some construction paper. Have the kids make leaves of different colors. They can draw them, and cut them out. Hole punch the top of the leaves, and then use string to hang them from one end of the room to the other. You can place the leaves all around the school room. If you want real leaves you can tape them to the string in between the artificial leaves.
Apple and acorn baskets
Cute little apple filled baskets, with acorns mixed in can really look nice in your homeschool classroom. You can find small baskets at your local dollar store, or in the dollar section at your local Target store. If you have an apple picking trip planned you can bring your own baskets and fill them. Place them around the room and add a few acorns. For snack time you can wash off the apples, and serve them for snack before they go bad. Or if you don't want real apples in the baskets you can help your children to make their own apples, using small sized balloons. If you have any water balloons left over from the summer these can be made into nice looking apples. You can blow up the balloons, and use red, or green construction paper, which can be cut into strips, and glued to the balloon. They may not come out looking perfect but it is a really fun apple project, and will look nice in the little basket.
Read under the apple tree
You can sit and read under a homemade apple tree with your kids. You can build an apple tree for your classroom out of regular art paper. You can find instructions on how to do this online simply by doing a Google search. From the tree you can hang some artificial apples. Place a few comfortable pillows under the apple tree, and you will have a nice comfy place to read.
Nesting
With the use of a little dark brown tissue paper, you can make a nice bird's nest. To get started all you need is a regular brown basket big enough to hold your school supplies. If you already have a brown basket to hold your school supplies, you can glue the tissue paper to the outside of the basket. You can even use construction paper to make a small bird and mount it on the top of the basket. Be sure to place a few Fall leaves in the birds nest to give it a nice Fall touch.
