A lot of parents do not realize that homeschooling actually have a lot of benefits if you are doing it in a proper way. There is a method leading to successful homeschooling.
Let me share with you some of my experience on homeschooling.
I would suggest parent to start homeschooling by allowing your children to express their interested in the topic that they are interested with. My daughter told me she wants to learn about flowers. I started off by sharing several types of common flowers with her. From that explain the unique characters, functions and parts of the flower to her. Do not go overboard as this might lead to confusion. But in homeschooling system, I would like to remind parents to consent freedom to kids when to stop when they had enough. The learning process might take up several weeks or a month. Let your children decide how much she wish to learn and know.
After few weeks or a month of basic learning, you can expand your child interest by using cd, books, magazines, puzzles and games. Children will give more attention if the reading materials are different. They might not be interested in books but will be able to concentrate while watching cd. So varies the ways of delivering knowledge.
Besides that, I also discover that my daughter learn a lot when I bring her to the museum or library. Concurrently, as parents broaden your knowledge and interest. As you are now the teacher of your kids, so the more you know the more your children get to learn.
Moreover, to conduct homeschooling for your kids you need to be observant. Grab all the opportunities for learning. Examples, when in the kitchen point out the vitamins consist in the fruits and vegetables. Why tomatoes are red in color, what make it red in color? Why leafy vegetables are good?
Do not get panic if you don't know the answer, go and look up either from books or internet. If your kids are learning and progressing slowly do not worry. This is the normal way of kids to learn.

How do you discpline your child when home schooling them?
In my opinion, it is the freedom of learning that allows homeschooled to children to excel so quickly. When children can be taught in a variety of ways and in methods that they respond to best, it makes them more receptive to the learning process. I home school my children as well. :-)
