If alone time is something you cherish, be prepared for a lack of it. You are virtually with these miniature adults 24 hours a day, seven days a week. On my street you may see some homeschooling parents in the car parked on the street. Yes, I have used this sanctuary. We all recognize this as uninterrupted alone time. We don't even honk or wave.
Continuing your education is a huge part of home schooling. Things change, and yes even in the basics. You are going to need to refresh yourself in many areas. If you have questions about this I would happily refer you to TV. Just watch three episodes of "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" Your children are absolutely worth any sacrifices you have to make. Just make sure you are making the right sacrifices for the right reasons. As a last piece of advice, if you found no humor in this, you may want to stay away from home schooling, humor is essential.
