There are simple rules to homoeopathy that are very easy to follow and will aid in a complete and speedy recovery, these range from the care of the homoeopathic remedies to the size of the dose and how often to repeat the dosage.

Homoeopathic remedies are made up of lactose pellets, globules or tablets and are named for their size, it is very important that homoeopathic remedies are obtained at a reputable homoeopathic pharmacy.

Taking care of homoeopathic remedies

It is important that the remedy is stored correctly in a cool dark place away from sunlight and strong smells.

These remedies should be kept away from children and pets. Although the remedies are non toxic even if the entire content of the bottle were to be swallowed, it is always better to keep it away from uninformed people.

These remedies are very sensitive and should not be touched, or only touched when absolutely have to, the reason is simple the skin on your hands excretes acid that is not good for these remedies.

Drinking, smoking or brushing your teeth is not advisable for 5min before and 5min after taking the remedy.

Camphor or any strong smelling products should not be used or inhaled during the use of homoeopathic remedies.

The consumption of coffee or cola products even if these are decaffeinated are strongly discouraged.

Dosage size

The dosage should be large enough to be absorbed through the membranes of the mouth and be sufficient enough to stimulate the vital force and effect change, 6 globules, 2 tablets or about 10 drops are recommended for adults and infants alike.

Repeating dosages

In severe cases the dosage would be repeated every 5 to 30min and the intervals between doses would be extended as the person and the symptoms get better, it is recommended to be reassessed if not improvement is experienced by the person after six doses. In less severe cases doses should be taken at 4 to 6 hour intervals to achieve steady improvement. It is necessary to make sure that the symptoms don't change as this could happen easily, and the remedy would then have to be altered.

Alternating remedies

It is not recommended to alternate remedies but it can be done as there are more than one remedy for the same ailment, alternating between 2 remedies when treating croup for example is not uncommon but as the symptoms change the remedy would have to be altered.
