Honda Bay is comprised of several islets with reefs that are shallow bordering the beautiful white sand beaches. Honda Bay is located at Sta. Lourdes Tagbanua, Puerto Princesa City. If visitors are looking to rent a boat to go off the island of their choice, they should go about 4 and a half miles east of Puerto Princesa in Sta. Lourdes Wharf. Other islands require a fee for entrance and some are privately owned so authorization from owners is mandatory. The Sta. Lourdes Wharf is 25 minutes away by tricycle or jeepney.
One of the best diving spots in Palawan is located at Tubbataha Reef Marine Park which is a world inheritance site. Palawan Island also offers all sorts of Jungle Eco Hikes as well as an underground river trip that is a little over 3 miles. The underground river trip should be visited between the months of December through May.
Honda Bay also has several islets where visitors can choose where to go by a pump boat ride such as Arkeceffi Islands which has the famous luxury Dos Palmas Resort. There is also another place called Bat Island where thousands of bats come out of their holes daily for an evening feed. Still another is Snake Island which acquired its name due to the fact that its shape is like the tongue of a snake. Here visitors can walk the beautiful white sand beach and can pick up large exquisite shells.
Would you be curious to hear that an island here only appears during the low tide? This island is called Lu-Li and in Tagalog it is, Lulubog-Lilitaw which means in English, floating and sinking island due to the fact that it is visible only during the low tide. If one is looking for several starfish, look no further than Starfish Island. It is known for its fine white sand beaches and one can see starfish because of its clear water. Other islands include Senorita Island which is the breeding site of the lapu-lapu fish, Canon Island and Pandan Island. Facilities for lodging that are overnight stays are available at Meara Marina Island and Starfish Island where the Sandbar Resort is located. A pump boat ride from the wharf to the different islands will take visitors 15 to 50 minutes to go to the dozens of beautiful white sand beaches of their choosing.
