According to Masahiro Takedagawa, president and CEO (Honda Siel Cars India), 'Honda Jazz is a premium hatchback and the company do not expect that it will overcome the sales numbers of the City sedan in India,"
Honda which would be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine is struggling with a competitive price for the Indian market. In the other foreign markets like, Jazz is costlier than the City. However, as India is a sensitive market, it is necessary for the car manufacturer to come with a competitive price. People will not be with comfortable paying a higher price for a hatchback despite its luxury and safety features.
Recently the Japanese car brand had launched the latest version of its premium sedan Accord which is powered by a 3.5 litre i-VTEC engine and carries the price tag ranging between Rs 24.8 lakh and Rs 25.35 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
