Addressing media persons at the launch of the new car, in New Delhi, the President and CEO Honda Siel Cars India, Mr. Masahiro Takedagawa said "Honda Jazz will re-define the small car segment in India. The new car Jazz is loaded with all the values that are associated typically with Honda. The car is designed to cater to the buyers who want the latest and most stylish car models with the best technology available I the country."
Honda Jazz will be available in three new variants - the Base, mid-range Mode and the top-end Active. All these variants are fitted with the lone 1.2 litre SOHC i-VTEC petrol run engine. The Jazz Mode will cost Rs 30,000 costlier than the base and the top end Jazz Active will be Rs 35,000 over the base model. The prices for the Jazz in Delhi start from Rs 6.98 lakh and the in Mumbai prices are Rs 7.43 onwards.
The Jazz Mode features body side mouldings, corner protectors to prevent parking scratches, mud flaps and funky lit up garnishes on the side steps. The top end Active is the sporty version of Jazz as it features the sport pedals, body coloured front grille, fog lamps and a smart spoiler. The safety equipments include anti-locks braking system with brake assist, electronic brakefore distribution, and dual front SRS airbags.
The company said Jazz engine is tuned to meet the future Euro-IV emission norms. The engine is certified by Automotive Research Association of India to deliver a fuel economy of 16.1 km/l.
