The Honda division had a very strong month of September as they had sales that were 17.5 percent higher in September 2007 when compared with September of 2006. Three of their car models set individual records for sales for that model in September during 2007. The Honda CRV sold 19,769 units which was a significant 68.7 percent increase when compared with the previous September. The Honda Odyssey had 16,464 units sold for a 24.2 percent increase when compared with September of 2006. Finally, the Honda Fit has 4,565 units sold which was a 139.1 percent increase over September of 2006.
While they did not set records, both the Honda Accord and Honda's entire truck line had solid September 2007 sale numbers as well. The Accord had 35,031 units sold which was a 31.2 percent increase over the previous September. For The Honda truck line there was a total number of 48,120 units sold in September 2007 which was a 15.3 increase over September 2006.
"The mid-September launch of the all-new Accord helped increase sales momentum for both the model and the Honda brand," said Dick Colliver, who is executive vice president of American Honda. "The diverse lineup of Honda cars and light trucks has become the strongest and most competitive in the company's history," continued Colliver.
The Acura models did not set as many records as Honda models, but they did have two that set September reccords. These were the MDX sports utility vehicle and the RDX sports utility vehicle. The MDX saw an increase in September 2007 sales of 34.1 percent compared to September 2006 with 5,162 units sold. The RDX had 1,951 units sold for a 19.1 percent increase when comparing September 2007 sales with September 2006.
American Honda Motor Co., Inc. had a strong September in 2007, and was led by the Honda division as three different models set records for September sales. The company for the year to date has had a 2.8 percent increase in sales when compared with the same time last year.
