Honda Ridgeline - the Ideal Family Truck
This Tough, Good Looking Truck Combines the Best of an SUV and a Pick Up
It's 3.5 L 250 hp V6 engine is powerful, and along with the all wheel drive and VTM-4 system, provides enough muscle and traction to easily to get any job done. Honda rates it's towing capacity at 5000 lbs. I've pushed that limit several times with my Ridgeline and have never had a problem. The Honda Ridgeline is one tough truck.
As far as the ride is concerned, the Honda Ridgeline drives like a luxury SUV, but you still get the feeling you're driving a truck and not some soccer-mom mobile. The ride is smooth and easy. Driving the Honda Ridgeline is a pleasure ... not only for me but for my wife too.
One feature that makes this the ideal family truck is that it has a large trunk under the bed, which is great for securely transporting grocery and shopping bags, beach stuff, sports equipment and other everyday family cargo. Accessing the trunk is easy. Just insert the key in the hole on the floor of the bed right behind the tailgate and the trunk pops open ... almost like in a car. The spare tire and jack are also stored in the trunk area. I don't know of any other truck that offers the convenience of a trunk.
Another convenient feature the Honda Ridgeline offers is the dual action tail gate. Drop it down to slide in plywood and sheet rock .... swing it open sideways like a door to access the trunk or reach items farther back in the bed. This feature really comes in handy.
Inside, the Honda Ridgeline is comfortable and luxurious and fully loaded with creature comforts such as multi-zone air-conditioning, heated, reclining front seats, a compass built in the rear view mirror, two power outlets in the front and back for charging cell phones and other electronic devices, as well as a powerful factory sound system. The seats are leather and extremely comfortable. Unlike many trucks, the Honda Ridgeline has plenty of room inside, front and back, with a full back seat that comfortably seats 3 adults.
My Honda 2008 Ridgeline averages about 15 - 18 miles per gallon around town and about 20 - 22 on the Interstate. Not bad for a truck it's size.
I'm extremely satisfied with my Honda Ridgeline. It's a tough, good looking truck and the ideal family vehicle as well.
