Honey Glazed Ham Family Recipe

Having the Family Together for Christmas or Hanukkah Dinner Makes Top 10 List

Aly Adair
I recently polled about 150 high school students at Bingham High School in Salt Lake City to see what they want Mom and Dad or Grandma and Grandpa to cook on Christmas Day or other holiday days like Hanukkah. The spirit of Santa Claus is truly alive in these young people since one of their top ten answers was not food, but "having the whole family together for the holiday meal."

Here are the results of the high school Favorite Christmas Dinner or Hanukkah Dinner poll and my personal honey glazed ham recipe. My honey glazed ham is also the most requested Christmas dinner by my daughter and family. I also included some affordable wines that go nice with a holiday ham dinner. Of course, the teenagers get the Welch's grape juice.

Place a whole clove in corners of diamonds all over the top of the ham.

Place ham of rack of roasting pan.

In bottom of roasting pan, put one cup water and 4 apples quartered.

Pour one cup pineapple juice over top of ham.

Squeeze juice from one orange over top of ham.

Roast for 6 hours, basting every 2 hours and adding more water if necessary. Squeeze another orange on top every two hours.

If you did the survey here I don't think anyone would know what funeral potatoes are, so they would come in last. :)
