Restaurants
This is a must. You should hit a couple of romantic restaurants when going to New York City on a honeymoon.
I really like Capsouto FrÃres. It's a romantic French restaurant in TriBeCa. Great stuff in a quaint and pleasing atmosphere. Recommendation: order dessert with your meal so that you don't have to wait.
Another great restaurant is Aureole. I love brownstones, and Aureole is located in one that has been converted. Simple elegance, and plenty of romance available at this uptown restaurant.
Finally, if you are looking for something intimate as well as different, head to Inagiku inside the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. It's a bit casual, but there are private tatami rooms that allow you to enjoy each other's company without the bustle of the outside.
Hotels
Of course, part of the honeymoon experience is the hotel. There are some lovely and romantic hotels in New York City, perfect for a memorable honeymoon.
The Ritz-Carlton is the epitome of classy. And it's located at Central Park. This is great, since Central Park is a very romantic spot with all sorts of opportunities for walks together.
Another hotel that offers beauty and elegance is Dream Hotel. It is located in the heart of Manhattan, allowing you easy access to nearly anything you want to do.
But for a more private feel, I like The Lowell. This is an intimate hotel that makes you feel as though you are staying at a mansion. If you want something luxurious and with a different feel from a more traditional hotel, The Lowell is a great choice.
Activities
I already mentioned Central Park as a great romantic activity. Indeed, there are several romantic activities (including horse drawn carriage rides) in Central Park alone. Here are some other great places to consider visiting while on your honeymoon in New York City:
Take a dinner cruise. Spirit Cruises offers beautiful water tours of New York City, along with dinner. See the city at night, when it is at its most romantic.
Also, don't forget cultural activities at the Lincoln Center and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. These locations can really set the tone for a romantic evening, as can a Broadway play.
