Hood Pumpkin Eggnog, Limited Edition Product Review

A New Twist on Holiday Eggnog

Maggie Ray
With holiday season arriving, grocers have already started stocking eggnog for the season. This year dairy provider, Hood, has added a new twist to the holiday eggnog choices by adding Pumpkin Flavored Eggnog to the shelves. Just in time for Halloween parties and punches, Hood's Pumpkin Eggnog sports a nice colorful orange box. The orange packaging with a holiday style winter landscape scene is definitely eye catching in a dairy container full of clear plastic or white milk jugs. The eggnog is available in a 32 ounce size and is found in the dairy section with other Hood milk products. The new Pumpkin Eggnog flavor is marked as a Limited Edition and advertises that it is made with real pumpkin. Hood provides a Pumpkin Spice Muffin recipe on the carton which makes 12 muffins using a cup of the Pumpkin Eggnog along with other typical muffin ingredients.

Quality and Taste: Hood's pumpkin eggnog has an excellent flavor. The pumpkin taste compliments the eggnog and does not overwhelm the drink. This product will be useful in many holiday baking projects and could be used in ice creams, cheesecakes, smoothies and baked goods. The product is ultra pasteurized for longer lasting after opening. However with the small carton size and the excellent taste there is little chance of any going to waste. Hood may want to consider offering a larger carton in the future.

The Limited Edition Hood Pumpkin Eggnog was an excellent addition to the holiday seasonal dairy products and hopefully will last for many years to come. Hood's website at www.hood.com provides a locator to see where Hood products are sold.
