Hooray for Peanut Butter

Every day we take for granted
Things like belt loops on our pants,
Things like pockets where we keep things,
Such as gum or worms or ants.

We never think about the buttons
Which hold our shirt safely in place.
And what about that hood with draw string
That fits so snug around our face?

We have forgotten about the laces
That we use to tie our shoes.
And without the zippers in them,
Coats would be of little use.

For all the old and new inventions
Like Velcro, snaps, hooks and eyes,
We keep forgetting to be thankful
And it comes as no surprise.

So count your blessings everyday,
And this cheer you should utter.
It sums it up in just one line,
Hooray for peanut butter!
