Hooters President & CEO is the Next Undercover Boss

Reality Rehash
Undercover Boss was the most watched reality TV show debut ever, but can it hold on to the record ratings it set without the Superbowl? For its second showing, the boss of Hooters went undercover within several chains of his franchise to learn what goes down in the real working world. Colby Brooks inherited the title of CEO and president from his father who helped build the brand. He kind of fell into the job but has learned to love it. After shaving his goatee and telling his executive board, Colby changed his name to Scotty and it was time to see what the Hooters girls were made of.
His first job was in the back of the restaurant, hauling beer mugs and emptying trash cans. He got a chance to fry some chicken but mostly his drill sergeant of a boss pushed him around and made him realize that the back of stores were lacking a bit as most of the attention was being placed on the Hooters girls. The conditions weren't that great and everything was a rush and he learned that the hard way. Colby couldn't keep up with the others who actually work there and his first boss had to cut his first job short, sending him home early and with a bruised ego.

Day was more uplifting for Colby as he set out to the streets with two Hooters girls. There they made him wear a skin tight t-shirt, since they have to, and they were off to give away some free chicken wings. They met several people while trying to promote their store. Some were all for the Hooters brand, mostly guys, while some of the ladies showed Colby what America things of his brand. They felt the clothing that is worn in the stores were degrading and one woman said she would never let her daughters work there. Colby realized that the view of the public was not a good one for his business and hoped to change that thanks to the experience.

The next two jobs dealt with management. The first was with a male manager: Jimbo. He was very appropriate to the girls. He had to inspect them before every shift and treated them more like show pieces rather then servers waitresses. When deciding who should go home early after the lunch rush hour, Jimbo decided to have the ladies play a "who can eat the most beans" game to decide who went home first. You could tell that Colby was uncomfortable and immediately called the owner of the store to let them know. In the end he forced Jimbo to apologize and made him realize that the way his treats his girls is just wrong and could lead to legal issues. Luckily Colby had a much better experience with Marcie, his next boss.

As I said Marcie was Colby's next boss and is a female manager. She respected the woman who work for her since she was once a Hooters girl herself and knew what they go through. She listened to what they said and also helped them throughout the day, rather then being above them. Colby was so impressed with her work that he rewarded Marcie with a week vacation anywhere she and her family wanted to go. He felt she was very stressed from the job and the way she ran her team deserved some time off.

Lastly Colby visited a plant that his father created. There he learned that the lack of his dad's management has brought down morale at the plant and has decided to return there to bring back the family-run atmosphere and hopefully lighten up spirits in the hard times that the company now faces. In the end it was a very eye-opening journey for Colby and it made another CEO look more human than ever before. It's interesting to see how the show is turning CEOs into real people rather then these figures that run a company. Next week the CEO of 7/11 goes undercover and hopefully it continues to do well for CBS.

I am disappointed to hear the Mr. Brooks would let his two daughters work there. When he sees them mature into beautiful young ladies, I really doubt he is going to want men googling at them and making the rude comments that men do when the waitress leaves the table. I think the restaurant is appalling and any of the young ladies that are working there should be ashamed for being put on display.

i was very disappointed in how Jimbo was handled. this is why sexual harrassment is still going on. no one will take a stand and stop it in the workplace. coby brooks knew it was wrong and should have fired the man instead of just reprimanding him. men know nothing will be done about it so they keep up the unacceptable behavior. if men(or women) knew they would be fired for this kind of behavior maybe that would make a difference. i don't want to be served with boobs and butts hanging out and don't go there, especially with my kids, but this just adds another reason not to spend my hard earned money at hooters. from the previews i thought finally a man will get fired for this and then when i watched the end i was very disappointed. maybe some management somewhere will set the standard for zero tolerance in the workplace for sexual harrassment.
