wish upon a used up star
try to run but don't get far
laugh until the tears fall down
scream but do not make a sound
dreaming someone else's dream
is harder than one might believe
living someone else's life
it breaks your heart and steals your might
secretly you look outside
find one that is all your own
close your eyes and wish real hard
soon it comes but they won't know
peace that lies so deep within
a gift only that you possess
suck it in and make it thin
they can try but they won't guess
hope is an amazing thing
