Hope is the Key

Many of us have experienced times when we thought change was impossible, or happiness was elusive. We watched our dreams be shattered, relationships end, suffered endless disappointments, and experienced emotional, or physical pain. In that misery, we may have vowed that we will never hurt again. We may have decided that misery is better choice than risking future disappointments, or failures. We may even feel we deserve to be miserable; it is our lot in life.

Hope is about possibilities. "Hope springs eternal in the human breast. Man never is, but always to be blest." (Pope, Essay on Man I.) Hope is a chink in the armor of despair. Hope is about healing. Hope is about the possibility of help. Hope is about the possibility of a Higher Power. Hope is about changing the values we assign life's problems. Hope is about right now, the rightness of the present moment. Nothing happens in God's world by mistake. Examine your belief systems. ---Either life is kind providence, or confusion and chaos. Trust your future to Divine Providence. Hope is about order and happening. Hope is the key that unlocks the door to change. We do not change when we keep ourselves locked in fear. "Whatever is abandoned by hope has also been abandoned by fear; this is the meaning of the word "desperate." (Arthur Schopenhauer.)

Hope is Spirit breathing life into the world. If our spirit is dead, the world will build will be lifeless, too. What pleasure is there in death? Spirit never dies, it maintains its form and is always illuminated by light. Perceive the possibilities, and order of nature. "When the moon is not full, the stars shine more brightly." (A Buganda Proverb.) There is purpose to everything under heaven. A time to be born, and a time to die. The grave comes soon enough. Look to the heavens, and ask why you are hiding your light. Reawaken the zest for life. Shake it real hard! Waken the joy of wonder. Waken the sense of beauty. Waken relationships with others, and a purpose for living. Hope is the gift we can give to others. The more we give it away, the more we have to give. Breathe new life into the spirit of your existence. Hope is the foundation for building new beginnings.
