Hope's Gone

Larry Sorensen
she was a camera flash,
lightning in a spring storm;
a sudden, bright light
across the bow of my boat.

hope was what she was

she was a shiny sharp blade
in the dullness of life
a cutting edge
on a rounded surface

hope of things to come

we saw life the same,
same texture same shape
same dream same vision

same hope

our drive together
was smooth as new highway
or still quiet lake
short, but stretched far ahead

with hope

we ate and talked
kissed lightly hugged often.
stepping nearer and nearer
the fire of all good things

plus hope

Then she quit
just quit with no reason
no explanation
incommunicado

with no hope

why are we so cruel
so cold
to all God's children
when if would take so little
to hope

Hope is always yours, if you wish to have it!

    Someday...just keep hoping. :)
