Horizon Fitness T101 Treadmill Review

Keeping a treadmill in your home is a great way to ensure that you can get in a workout even on days when you are not able to make it to the gym. It also gives you the option of exercising in private if you are not comfortable being on display in front of others. With all of the treadmills available on the market, choosing a good one can be difficult. I recommend the Horizon Fitness T101 Treadmill. This treadmill can be purchased for about $600 from amazon.com. It has a 300 pound maximum user weight.

The treadmill has a 2.25 horsepower motor so it has the power to do everything you need. I often run on mine for an hour per day with intervals up to nine miles per hour and have never had a problem with the motor not being able to handle it. The motor is also quiet in comparison to other treadmills I have used. It is still difficult to listen to the TV over it but the sound is not disturbing to other members of my family. The treadmill can go up to 10 mph and incline to 10 percent.

The on-board computer gives you nine programming options. You can set time, distance, and calorie targets. You can also control the speed and incline manually or use the preprogrammed interval and weight loss options. I really like the interval option because it helps me to burn more fat without having to pay much attention to my workout.

A feature of this treadmill that I really enjoy is the Sonic Surround speakers. I can plug my mp3 player into the speakers and play my music through them rather than having to worry about getting tangled up in my headphones. The music sounds good and does not need to be very loud because the speakers are pointed right toward you.

The running surface is slightly padded to help reduce impact on your body. The track is also 20 by 55 inches so it gives plenty of room even for people with long legs.

The assembly was fairly straightforward and took less than an hour. You might need someone to help you move the box because it is quite large and heavy. Once assembled, the treadmill is sturdy and feels as though it will last quite awhile. As mentioned earlier, I use mine quite a bit and it has been going strong for six months now.
