The 2011 Horizon League Championship brackets are out. The 2011 Horizon League Championship schedule begins on Tuesday, March 1, and works its way to the Horizon Championship Game on Tuesday, March 8. They use a double bye format, meaning the top two seeds in the tournament (Milwaukee and Butler) get byes all the way to the conference semi-final games on Saturday, March 5.

According to the Horizon website, under the tournament format, the No. 5 through No. 8 seeds will compete in the opening round to determine who will advance to the next round of the tournament. Waiting for the winners in the quarterfinals will be the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds, who will have first round byes. The winners of the quarterfinal match-ups will go head-to-head with the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds, which will have byes through the first two rounds of the tournament. This format is exactly like what the West Coast Conference uses.

All round one games take place on Tuesday at the highest seeded team's home court. On Friday in round two of the tournament as well as round three on Saturday, all games take place in Milwaukee. Then the Horizon League Championship Game will be played on Tuesday, March 8 on ESPN.
