Horman Sting Details: Kyron's Stepmom Allegedly Seeks Assassin, Cop Goes Undercover in Sting

Terri Moulton Allegedly Sought to Have Her Landscaper Become an Assassin in a Murder-for-hire Scheme

Terri Moulton Horman allegedly attempted to hire a landscaper to double as an assassin in a murder-for-hire plot against her husband Kaine Horman, father of the missing 7 year-old Portland, Oregon boy Kyron Horman, according to Oregon Live.

Approximately six or seven months ago an unnamed landscaper was hired by Terri Moulton to work for her, but she wanted him to kill her husband Kaine Horman for an undisclosed amount of cash he said--not to plant trees or cut the grass. The landscaper declined the job offer.

Then, months later, Terri Moulton Horman's stepson Kyron Horman went mysteriously missing and hasn't been seen since she took him to Skyline Elementary School on June 4th. The 7-year-old little boy continues to inspire round-the-clock coverage as his family and strangers everywhere pray for his safe return.

Undercover Police Sting

Police investigating the disappearance of Terri Moulton's stepson Kyron Horman happened to become privy to the landscaper's claim about the now reclusive stepmom and set up a sting operation between the missing child's stepmother, the landscaper and an undercover law enforcement officer.

Terri Moulton, along with the landscaper in question, and the undercover law enforcement officer conversed on June 26, 2010. The sting operation was recorded, unbeknown to Terri, with the landscaper attempting to revisit Moulton's earlier, alleged, murder-for-hire offer. Terri, however, wasn't biting, providing no definitive evidence to law enforcement to support an arrest.

Police Confront Kyron's Stepmom About Murder-for-Hire

Detectives working the Kyron Horman disappearance case in Portland, Oregon attempted to confront Terri about the murder-for-hire scheme alleged by her former landscaper after the sting failed to provide needed confirmation. Terri Moulton denied the conversation with the landscaper ever took place, turning his disclosure into a 'he said, she said' hearsay admission in a court of law.

After law enforcement authorities conducted their sting operation with Kyron Horman's stepmom they shared their findings and suspicions with Kyron Horman's father, Kaine, according to Oregon Alive. The news agency says that this is what allegedly prompted Kaine Horman to exit the family home with his and Terri's 19-month-old daughter, filing for divorce and sole custody of the child.

Kyron Horman remains a missing child as of this writing; Kaine Horman was granted custody of his baby daughter and a restraining order against Terri Moulton, and Terri has since obtained the services of criminal defense lawyer Stephen Houze. Police are still investigating the case and anyone with information is asked to contact the FBI at (503) 261-2847.

If the husband got custody of his baby daughter, I'm wondering if there was some evidence in that sting operation - just not enough to convict. Thanks for the update.
