The series is written by Judy Kline, an author with many years experience writing and teaching children. The main character is Harry and the stories are told by his friend Doug. Another character in the book, Song Lee, has a chapter book series for young girls also. The Horrible Harry series centers on his adventures which is classmates in room 2B while in second grade. The series continues when the entire group moves to third grade together as a class. Horrible Harry has a crush on Song Lee and his feelings come through in some of the chapter books. Suzy Kline's stories are a fun read for young girls just starting chapter books. Most books are 50 pages or less and are easy enough to be read alone or can be read aloud with a parent or in the class.
