Horse Riding Lessons in Albuquerque, NM

Horseback riding is always a fun sport for the whole family. Kids enjoy riding on these majestic beasts and trotting through nature. Adults enjoy the feeling of connecting with animals and getting away from city life for awhile. It seems as though there wouldn't be any places in Albuquerque one can go for horseback riding lessons, but actually that isn't so. Many places around Albuquerque from the bosque to the South Valley to the Heights all have places where large pieces of land are accompanied by horses and other farm animals. Some of these places have turned their farms into horse riding ranches into a business.

The Bosque Circle Ranch is a great place to take the kids for birthday parties or even just for riding lessons. During the holidays they sometimes have deals such as 30% off. If you're into something a little more leisurely you can take a ride along the Rio Grande on a trial ride. Riding lessons cost $35/hour and the trail rides run for about two hours and cost $50. Ages 6 and above are welcome to ride and safety is always a priority. Birthday parties run $300 and can accommodate 10 children for two hours. The Bosque Circle Ranch is located near Coors and Alameda. Contact number: 505-620-6888

Get right to the heart of Albuquerque and experience its history by going to the 12-acre Old Town Farm in the Rio Grande Valley. What I like about this ranch is that you, as the rider, are allowed to ride at your own pace. Whether you are a more experienced rider or a novice, you are welcome to take things at a comfortable pace for you. There is also a jump arena for those interested. They are located near I-40 on Montoya Rd. Call for rates and additional questions: (505) 764 9116

If you're looking to combine a nice evening in a Bed & Breakfast with some horse riding adventure, then the Cedar Crest Country Cottage & Stables is more ideal for your needs. The Bed and Breakfast is beautifully decorated in a Southwestern décor. During the day you will be taken on a peaceful horse ride into the Sandia mountains. For one to three hours you can take a ride through the Cibola National Forest enjoying nature. Rates are $30/hr per person. Additional rides are featured at various prices including a waterfall ride, overlook view ride and a canyon ride. All sound incredibly beautiful and memorable.
