According to their website the Foothills Equestrian Center has in operation for over 25 years. The Foothills Equestrian Center may be the most well known place for horse riding lessons in the Hickory North Carolina area. They are located on Starnes Lane in nearby Taylorsville. Foothills offer boarding, training and horseback riding lessons among their services. They also have a summer camp each year. You can also enroll your kids aged 5 and up in the "Pony Pals" program. The "Pony Pals" consist of 30 minute lessons and the price of 4 sessions a month is currently $75.
TouchPoint Equine Center
The TouchPoint Equine Center in Newton North Carolina offers a wide range of horseback riding lessons. Kids 5 and older are taught at the center, you can contact them via phone at 704-929-0658. Get $5 off the price if you mention this MySpace page.
The TouchPoint Equine Center is not just for kids, they also offer adult horseback riding lessons in the Hickory area. Hunt seat, Trail Riding, Western Pleasure, English and Therapeutic riding for people with special needs are all offered as well.
Collins Stables
Collins Stables is located at the CSI farm right off Highways 321 and 127 in Hickory North Carolina. Collins Stables offer boarding with 19 stalls as well as riding lessons and a summer camp.
Collins Stables has a outdoor track as well as trails you can ride the horses on, a covered bull pen and a climate controlled tact room Currently the rates for lessons are $30 an hour for private horseback riding lessons. Rock Barn Golf and Spa
Rock Barn is not just a golf course these days; they also have a nice Equestrian Center with 22 stalls. I live near Rock Barn and often see the beautiful horses they have at the Equestrian Center. I have been on one horse, as a kid and fell off it. Not been back on one since.
I wish I could have grown up taking lessons. I ride when on vacation but I have to admit I'm terrified of horses. They never listen to me and one time my horse in Hawaii almost went off of a cliff. I'm too much of a softy when it comes to animals. :-) You've provided great info!
