Host a Princess Party for Your Daughter's Birthday

V. L. Hamlin
Every little girl's dream is to be a princess. Fulfill that dream for her this year! Hosting a princess party doesn't have to be as difficult as it may seem and it definitely doesn't have to be as costly! Shopping at your local dollar store or Goodwill can save you a lot of money!

Follow the simple steps below to host the perfect princess party for your daughter!

Step # 1 ~ Set your budget!

This is the most significant step!

Step # 2 ~ Make a List!

On a blank piece of printer paper, draw two lines to form four boxes. Title each box the following:

Food

Games

Costumes

Goody Bags

Then write down everything below and anything else you would like to add!

Step # 3 ~ Food

"Real" Princesses eat miniature sandwiches and delicate little cakes, don't they? Prepare the same for the party! Make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, then cut them out with cookie cutters shaped like flowers or just cut them into small triangles or squares. Instead of a huge cake, bake cupcakes in miniature muffin tins, then frost with sparkly frosting. (You can purchase food glitter in the cake decorating section of your grocery store.)

Step # 3 ~ Games

This is the fun part and also where you will save the most money! Remember the horrible game at bridal showers where you make "dresses" from toilet paper? Play that game, kids love it and it's easy to do! Separate the girls into groups of two or three and give each group a roll of toilet paper. Have them dress one girl in a "princess dresses" designed from toilet paper. Then give out prizes to each girl for different categories.

Make jewelry! The dollar store offers a huge selection of beads in all different colors and shapes. Have a table set up with little bowls of different style beads and some yarn. They can make necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings!

Step # 4 ~ Costumes

The fun part about a Princess Party is the costumes! I know what you are thinking..."The costumes are so expensive, I can't possible have one for every girl"! Am I right? Yup, I knew it! Guess what! They don't have to be! A lot of people donate their children's Halloween costumes to Goodwill and the Salvation Army after they wear them. Stop by your local store today and see how cheap you can buy the princess costumes!

Step # 5 ~ Goody Bags

Children love to receive goody bags at birthday parties! Send your little ones friend's home with a princess pocket book filled with candy and miniature toys!

To make the princess pocket books, you will need the following:

Fabric of your choice

Scissors

Ribbon

Decide how many you need, for this example we'll say we need eight.

Cut eight, six inch circles of fabric. Place candy and miniature toys in the center of each circle, then pull the sides up and tie with a ribbon! Perfect little pocket books for little princesses!

With all the steps listed here, your daughter is sure to have the best birthday party of her life! Enjoy!
