Hosting a Silpada Party

Diana Eid
I recently hosted a Silpada party. I had attended a party before that and was interested into having my own party. The incentive of free jewelry was hard to pass up. Throughout the weeks leading up to the party, I was in constant contact with the Silpada representative I had met at the original party. She wanted me to invite at least 20 people and offered me discounts on jewelry if I invited more. I didn't end up making that goal, but I had a nice crowd turnout. The Silpada rep. did all of the "grunt" work. All I had to do was give her the addresses of the people I planned to invite. I entered these addresses through an easy form located on her website. Every time I thought of someone else to invite, I just added it to the site. The rep. ended up sending out the invitations and followed up with people by calling or emailing them.

On the day of the party, the Silpada rep. arrived one hour before and started to set up. She had requested that she be given a table preferably next to the food, because that's where most of the people would be gathered.

Once the guests started to arrive, it became a nice relaxing atmosphere. People were eating and looking at the jewelry. Anyone was free to try on the pieces and sample them. My Silpada rep. had a lot of jewelry so that made it easy to decide whether or not we wanted to purchase a certain piece. There were a few pieces that she didn't have that were in the catalog, but the catalog did a great job of describing and showing the jewelry that it was hard to resist anything in it.

After about an hour, the Silpada rep. spoke briefly to tell us about the company. She then passed out the order forms and gave us more time to talk and look over the jewelry. Once people had completed their order forms, they just waited for her to come around to take their order.

As a hostess, I received $25 in free jewelry for just hosting the party. Once all of the guest's orders were placed, I was told that I would get 30% of the total order in free jewelry. She let me know how much I was getting at the end of the party. I ended up getting $250 in free jewelry, which allowed me to purchase a bracelet that I had my eye on. After the party was over that night, I got to choose which day to close the party, then at that point all of the orders would be sent in.

Everyone received their orders in about a week after I closed the show. The best thing about Silpada is that you can always return the jewelry for any reason and they will take it back. I think hosting a Silpada party is a great way to build up your jewelry collection and to have a great get-together with friends.
