Many radio stations around the United States create their own special concert on an annual basis. The purpose of this is to give listeners something to look forward to in addition to a reward for artists that provide content to the radio station. These artists provide the content to the station and they are rewarded with a concert spot and the fan feels they are rewarded because they are provided with an opportunity to see their favorite artists in person. One of the most well known of these concerts was created by Hot 97.1 in New York. The concert is titled Summer Jam and it is an annual concert event that is essentially a mega concert of all of most popular Rap and RNB artists during the summer of each year. Summer Jam is usually an event that will sell out of tickets within hours of tickets being placed on sale. However, with the economy in a bad spot during the last few years' ticket sales have been slower. However, Hot 97.1 just released their list of artists to appear at their Summer Jam event this year and this list is packed with the hottest in music today.

A list of the artists that will be appearing at Summer Jam is shown here and if you like Rap music then you will be very excited for this news. Appearing live on stage at Summer Jam taking place at the New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ on June 6, 2010 will be all of the greatest that music has to offer. These artists include Usher, Ludacris, Fabolous, Gucci Mane Talib Kweli, DJ Khaled and Rick Ross. Drake and Nicki Manaj of Young Money will be appearing in addition to RNB sensation Trey Songz and Juelz Santana. The unique aspect of Summer Jam is the fact that there is always surprise performers and additional acts in order to create excitement for the crowd. Last year I attended Summer Jam 2009 and the surprise guest was Jay-Z. I am a big fan of his and I had great seats to the event. The tickets cost me about $500 for the fourth row including taxes for two seats. I will be attending Summer Jam in 2010 and I expect that the surprise this year will be a reunion of The Diplomats between Cam'ron and Jim Jones in addition to Juelz Santana since he is already booked to be performing at the event.
