Hot Beauty Products for the 2009 Season

Get Your Skin Glowing in Time for Silky Spring and Summer Clothing

Patti Stafford
Each spring and summer season brings a whole new line of beauty treatments must haves. We all want our hair, skin and nails to look their best for the upcoming skinny clothes season. Who wants to come out of their sweaters, jackets and jeans only to find rough, flaky elbows and knees. You want your hair and face to fare just as well. Now is the time to start ridding yourself of ugly dry winter skin and prepare for the warmer months ahead.

Some of these products contain vitamins and nutrients found in our food supply and will leave you feeling simply delish.

Lycopene is an anti-inflammatory agent found in tomatoes. It can also help relieve itchy skin. You can purchase a shower gel called, "Yes to Tomatoes" from Walgreens for about $9.

Exfoliating dead, dry skin can be an easy and scrumptious treat with a Coco Walnut soap from "One With Nature." You can visit their website at http://onewithnature.com and find many other soap products, travel packs and gift sets. Unfortunately they do not have an online store front. You can click on the purchase tab to enter your zip code and find which boutiques carry the products in your area.

Need a quick fix when you're on-the-go? Skin Appetit carries a moisturizing balm, available in a stick like deodorant. You can carry this in your purse or make-up bag so it's handy wherever you go. It contains several food product ingredients like mango, Shea butter and avocado oil. These products are available at Rite-Aid and Walgreen's. I also found it at http://nutritiouslife.com/sa_balm.htm.

Have trouble with split ends? We all do and there seems to be no way to rid ourselves from them other than trimming them off. There is, however, an avocado shampoo that may just remedy those pesky little split ends. VitaminShampoo's Blueberry Avocado shampoo contains protein rich avocado's. Protein rich products can help strengthen your hair and prevent split ends. It's available at Walgreen's for around $7. It's full of nutrients, vitamins, and anti-oxidants to help rejuvenate your hair.

Omega-3 Fatty Acids combined with Olive butter helps nourish extremely rough elbows and skin. You can purchase Palmer's Olive Butter for around $5 at drugstores.

Facial care is a whole new department. You should begin with a good exfoliating cleanser like Borba's Clarifying Micro-Diamond Cleanser. It contains antioxidants like grapeseed and pomegranate to help fight free radicals. It's sold at Beauty.com for $18.

After a facial cleansing you need to apply a good moisturizer. Mark's For Goodness is a rich clear facial moisturizer that gives you a healthy glow, contains antioxidants and has an SPF of 30. It smells of dark chocolate too. It can be purchased through MeetMark, the younger teenage version of Avon. You can find an Avon representative or visit MeetMark.com. Cost of this product is $15.

Now that warm spring and summer months are just around the corner and you're ready to start shedding some of those layers of clothing, it's the perfect time to start pampering your skin and getting it ready for the season.
