Hot Bikini Babes Are Thieves and Tru TV Wants the Rights

When most people hear the term hot bikini babes, they generally think of girls at the beach, sexy car models or the scantily-clad ladies that fill the pages of Maxim Magazine. However, for the residents of Lafayette Gardens Apartments in Louisiana, the thought of a babes in bikinis may make them want to lock their doors.

Shocking videos taken from the apartment complex's security surveillance system shows two slim bikini babes wondering the community parking lot pillaging residents' cars for all sorts of loot. The video clearly shows the two girls - one sporting a black two-piece bikini and the other in a purple string bikini - going from car to car pulling on handles and entering various vehicles to search for items to steal.

Shori White, President of the management company at Lafayette Gardens said although she does want the girls to be punished, it's o.k. to laugh at the same time.

"Most criminals don't come bikini clad, so, you know, it is funny," White said. "They weren't the brightest kids in the world, but they're fashionable."

According to White, news of the shocking video clip spread fast. Although, the hot bikini babes burglary video is only a few days old, the reality-based network, Tru TV got wind of it and offered to purchase the rights. The network hopes to add the video of the hot bikini babes to its collection of shocking videos and other programming which it calls 'actuality' not reality tv.

Although, the idea of a network profiting off babes in bikinis may sound like nothing new, when you consider the origins of Tru TV, the whole thing sounds kind of seedy. Yes, Tru TV, the network that now brings viewers things like videos of girl fights, motorcycle crashes, fighting videos and car crash videos used to be Court TV.

You may remember Court TV as the network that aired 24-hour non-stop coverage and analysis of the O.J. Simpson trial. However, for many fans interested in legal issues, it was a lot more. But now it appears as though the network has decided to dump its 100-percent focus on the law and move instead toward more popular, albeit lower-brow programming. The one-time source for legal junkies now seems more suited for adrenaline junkies who like to watch people jump off of things.

Aside from a few series-based programs like, "Man vs Cartoon," a show in which so-called experts investigate whether things seen in cartoons will actually work in real life, and, "Rich & Reckless," a program focused on how wealthy children believe and act like they are above the law, Tru TV viewers are also treated to shocking videos. One short clip, for example, entitled, "Badly Behaved Bikers Begin Brawl" features pretty much what you'd expect and another called, "Miss Mexi-Cow" highlights a bizarre bovine beauty pageant in a small town in Mexico. After viewing clips like these it is easy to see why Tru TV executives are drooling over the hot bikini babes burglary video from the Lafayette Gardens Apartments surveillance system.

Though, it is understandable that networks will always chase the dollar by airing what people want, the drastic evolution of Court TV to Tru TV may be a disturbing sign of things to come as nature, historical and other niche networks are forced to alter their programming to prove their worth in viewership and secure a lasting place in cable line-ups. It truly is a sign of the times. And, with the way things are going, it's not hard to imagine a day when you might see girls in bikinis talking about the Nazi invasion of Poland on the History Channel or hot bikini babes playing with puppies on Animal Planet.
