Apple iPod Touch
When buying an iPod, you have 3 size options. But before that you should figure out whether you want a first generation or a second generation. Recently Apple came out with the second generation iPod Touch, a relatively cheaper model that comes with some cool new features like a new speaker (external), a longer battery life, and a slimmer appearance.
Now that you have decided on your generation of choice, it is time to choose the memory capability! First there is the 8GB, capable of holding up to 1750 songs, 10 000 photos, and up to 10 hours of video. For one of these you will be paying anywhere between $218.00 and $230.00, depending on where you choose to purchase it.
Next up is the 16GB, which is capable of holding up to 3500 songs, 20 000 photos and 20 hours of video. Expect to pay somewhere between $280.00 and $320.00 for this one.
For those of you with an endless play list and deep pockets, there is the 32GB. This is capable of holding 7000 songs, 25 000 photos and 40 hours of video. You will be paying between $360.00 and $400.00. This option is a bit pricey, but as a proud owner of one of these bad boys, I can tell you it is definitely worth the extra cash.
While the iPod is a great all around mp3 player, I feel I should tell you that the display screen glass is notorious for cracking easily, and I am telling you from first-hand experience that this is the truth. A friend of mine had just bought his 32GB iPod Touch when he dropped it from a very small distance, and it shattered. Needless to say, he was rather depressed after spending close to $400.00 on it.
So if you have butter fingers or are the paranoid type, fear not! For an extra $20 you can buy a protective case, giving you the peace of mind that nothing, not even the cold hard concrete, can separate you from your new found love.
Now I know this article may get you excited, and you are probably feeling the urge to go buy an iPod right now, but before you do anything, make sure the person you are purchasing it for owns a computer. I can not stress this enough. If they do not have a computer, they will not be able to put songs on the iPod or even recharge it.
So whether you are buying one of these great inventions for your teenage daughter or your 70 year old father, the iPod Touch is a great Christmas gift idea, and they are sure to love it.
