I was impressed with the large selection of hot and ready foods in the Wal-Mart deli. I honestly had a hard time deciding what to purchase there were so many options. I went with jo-jo style potato wedges, macaroni and cheese and boneless chicken breast tenders.
The jo-jo style potato wedges are absolutely fantastic and really affordable. One pound costs less than $2, and these potato wedges taste so much better than your average fast food french fries! One pound contains quite a lot of wedges, enough to feed a family of four for a side dish. The potato wedges from Wal-Mart are not spicy but the spices are delicious and offer a fantastic flavor, sure to please just about anyone.
The boneless chicken breast tenders taste every bit as good as you would expect from a franchise such as Kentucky Fried Chicken. I paid around $3 per pound, and got about 4 tenders per pound. The breast tenders are juicy, flavorful and fresh. These made a great main portion of our cheap and easy meal, and everyone loved them! They are not spicy hot and they are easy to reheat in your oven or microwave. These are unbeatable in my opinion!
As for the macaroni and cheese, wow! That is the best way to describe the quality and flavor of Wal-Mart hot deli macaroni and cheese. It is creamy, thick and oh, so cheesy! I wish I could get my homemade macaroni and cheese to taste this great! My family went wild over Wal-Mart macaroni and cheese. I paid a little less than $2 per pound, and I believe this fantastic food from the deli is worth way more than they are charging for it!
I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor, value and quality of Wal-Mart's hot deli food. I will definitely stop by the Wal-Mart deli to try out the other hot and ready foods they offer and in general when I just don't want to cook! If you have not tried Wal-Mart hot deli foods I would recommend you do! You will be surprised by how great everything really is.
