Hot Hair for the Summer of 2007

If you're anything like me, you always want to be up on the latest and greatest trends of the season. Well, let me be your guide. Here for you, I have some of the hottest summer hair trends.

Trend #1: Center Parts

Center parts can create the illusion of high cheekbones. They can also emphasize the eyes.

For wavy or curly hair, there are a few options. The first is our old favorite, the "beachy" look. There is something extremely sexy about a woman's hair when she's just gotten out of the ocean. With a small spritz of hairspray or a bit of gel, you can recreate that look, no beach required. I have found that a hairspray called Curly Sexy Hair works best to create this look for me, but try a variety of products. Everyone is different. Just make sure you let your hair air dry.

Another option, is to create a softer, more defined look. For myself, I usually use Curl Crazy gel by Bumble and Bumble, Anti Frizz by Sunsilk, and Curly Sexy Hair. To get soft waves, take about a quarter sized blob of gel and work it through your hair. Then, take a nickel sized blob of the anti-frizz, if your hair tends to get frizzy, and work that through your hair. Then, part your hair down the center and make two loose braids. You should look like Pipi Longstocking. Finally, spray this with a light coat of hairspry. Let your hair air dry in the braids.

Finally, you can also blow dry your hair with a diffuser. This will also create a cleaner look than having just come back from the beach.

For women with straight hair, the answer is much simpler. Just part your hair in the center and blow dry. If you have some frizz taking over, just use an anti-frizz syrum or some shine syrum. Trend #2: Neat Knots

To create an elegant twist, tease your hair back to get some extra lift. Then divide the hair into three pieces and roll each one separately.

If you want a more edgy look, you can rough up a bun. Put your hair in a bun, allowing some of the loose ends to fall out of it. Then, place bobby pins where they can both be seen and break up the bun.

If your looking for something a little different, try this look. Take the ends of your hair and wrap it around the middle. Then pull it through the top to create a bulb on top.

Trend #3: Bangs

If you can pull it off (meaning if you have a oval or diamond shaped face), go for bangs that are cut straight across. Bangs can make you look younger and help frame your face. Trend #4: Ponytails

The wonderful thing about ponytails is that they are easy. You can wear a loose ponytail with some hair loose in front or a tight, high ponytail. You can also wear a tight ponytail right at the base of your head.

Trend #5: Soft Highlights

While last summer brought bright blonde streaks, this summer brings a softer, more natural look. The idea is to give your hair movement and texture, but not giveaway that it is anything but natural. I don't know about you, but I always want people to think that my beauty is 100% natural. After all, who has to know?
