Hot Hairstyles for Teens

Kat Sanchez
Ok girls, get ready to rock these haircuts now because:

A. You will look ridiculous in them ten years from now.
B. Ten years from now they will be hopelessly out of style, and one day your kids will laugh at you for wearing them. Tell the truth; we have all looked at pictures of our mothers' hair in the '70s and we cracked up. Hard.

But for now, there are some super cool haircuts out there that are perfect for a teenager in 2009.

What it is: Long and Straight. Mid-side part, no bangs. This style looks best with girls on girls with all different hair thicknesses, although if your hair is very fine be sure to add some layers so it doesn't look weighed down and flat.
Why you should wear it: Your teenage years are the best time to pull of pretty, long hair. By this time you (usually) haven't fried it beyond recognition with heating appliances and years of chemical treatments.
Who should wear it: Anyone with naturally straight hair or whose hair can be straightened by a flat iron...and actually stay that way. (Offer void in states with exceptionally high humidity such as Alabama).

What it is: Short all over, except for one side in the front, which is dyed green, pink, blue, or purple. Try to stay away from bright red or even electric versions of these colors. Keep the color noticeable but subtle, and you can pair the 'do with more dramatic makeup.
Why you should wear it: Because anyone over the age of 22 wearing this is going to look like they have some separation from adolescent issues. Do it now, while you still can. It's super cute.
Who should wear it: Chicks who aren't afraid of turning heads; girls who are good at talking their parents into stuff.

What is it: Curly. Hey, the eighties are back. Give your straightening iron a rest if you have super curly hair, and rock it. Just make sure you keep it healthy by keeping it cut regularly, and use products especially for curly hair. I particularly like Bumble and Bumble Curl Cream for keeping a hold of locks that have minds of their own, and DHC's entire line of hair products for your hair's best health
Why you should wear it: In the trend of every girl with curly hair wanting to straighten it, break through and start a new trend. Believe me, girls with naturally straight hair will be green with envy.
Who should wear it: Curly-haired girls who want to go eighties throwback, and don't mind being trendsetters.
