Hot New Home Based Business Opportunity!

There's Money to Be Made in Small Claims

Jane Meyer
Who hasn't thought of owning their own home based business? The thought is always there as we wake up early and drag ourselves to work. With all of the home-based businesses out there, it's hard to choose the right one which will make the most profit and have the least overhead costs. Of course, start up money is always an issue. Many franchises require at least $100,000 in capital.

A new type of home based business popping up around the country is called "claims recovery". Many times, when a judgment is awarded in small claims court, the money is never paid to the plaintiff. The parties who are owed money are either individuals or small businesses. Getting the judge to rule in your favor if you are legitimately owed money is easy. The hard part is actually collecting the money.

Most people who are awarded judgments in court just don't know how to get the other party to pay. There are legal ways to seize the money but many people don't have this type of knowledge.

The techniques used to recover the owed money are all performed through the court system. Some of these methods include seizing bank accounts, garnishing wages and placing liens on personal property such as real estate, boats and automobiles.

As a claims recovery specialist, you would offer the individual or business owner your services of recovering the claims and you would keep a commission on the amount recovered, usually 50% plus expenses incurred in the process.

So where can you locate judgment holders? This information is on file as public record at your local courthouse. In some states or counties, courts might even list public records online.

Some types of judgment types include: the claimant is owed money by someone who has not repaid them, the claimant is a landlord and the tenant has not paid the rent, the claimant took a car repair shop to small claims court over a repair, the claimant purchased a new car which was defective, the claimant was sold defective merchandise from a store or the claimant is owed wages from an employer who refuses to pay.

As you can see, there are thousands of cases in the court system in which monetary judgments have been awarded but never paid. This is an untapped business. For details on how to file court proceedings, there are courses you can purchase or you can self-educate yourself through studying books on the subject.

How much money you can earn is unlimited!
