Hot Movie Remake Ideas

7 Remakes for the Cineplex, Part I

Ron Lester
So all the original ideas have been used? That creative spring is merely an occasional oasis, appearing out of nowhere. Usually, we are parched and starving when we finally spot it. This article is merely fitting in, some obscure name, trying to cash in on a hot fad. I decided, after seeing many poorly written remakes, to try and spout out a few possible remakes for the near future. Why not? We all love movies, though it often doesn't pay to see them in the box office anymore. However, we can still hope for the best.

Topper was a hit in the 1930's, featuring Cary Grant and Constance Bennett as the mischievous ghosts troubling poor old Topper, a banker. It was funny then, but I feel a great adaptation could do well today. Nothing like a little supernatural humor to brighten our "spirits." Can you imagine? I would offer the role of George Kerby to Jim Carrey, hands down, uniting him with Kate Hudson. You know what, I really loved Robert DeNiro in Meet The Parents, I can only imagine what he could do with Topper. What a fantastic casting idea for the remake of Topper! Wow, that has blockbuster written all over it. Topper Rides Again, I cannot wait.

The Ghost and Mrs. Muir featured Rex Harrison, as the ghost of a grumpy sea captain, and Gene Tierney, as Mrs. Muir. This was released in 1947. Another supernatural flick, this time with a romantic twist. I am sorry, but supernatural topics always seem to capture our imaginations. I would offer the role of the sea captain's ghost to, the one and only, Robert Redford. As Mrs. Muir, I think I am leaning toward Jodie Foster. The perfect script could possibly capture both of their attention.

Mac Bolan, The Executioneris the brain child of Don Pendleton. I am a little surprised no one has taken Mac Bolan to the big screen. Considering how well movies like Mission Impossible and Casino Royale did, it would not be that farfetched to bring Mac Bolan to the Cineplex. I would love to see this feature the rise of Mac Bolan, start at the beginning of his career. This one is a little tougher to figure on a leading man for this role. However, I seem to lean toward someone like Ryan Reynolds for this part. Ryan would be the around the perfect age for Mac Bolan to begin his career.

Friday is an interplanetary secret courier, brought to us by Robert Heinlein. This is a book I read as a teenager, longing to see someone take up the reins on a film adaptation for it. Personally, I see Jessica Biel as the ideal candidate for the role of Friday. She would fill Friday's outfit perfectly. A film of this caliber could solidify her as a top box office draw.

The Necroscope is another series I really loved. I know there have been rumors aplenty about people trying to adapt it for the big screen. For those of you, who do not know what The Necroscope is. The Necroscope is a fantastic combination of espionage, horror, and science fiction written by Brian Lumley. The story is about Harry Keough, a young man born with the gift to speak with the dead. He is recruited to work in the British Secret Service and finds himself drawn into a battle between life and undeath. This has real potential as a huge draw in the box office, legions of fans anxiously await a cinematic version. Jude Law or Heath Ledger come to mind for the role of Harry Keough, The Necroscope. I really do see millions of Necroscope fans lining up in anticipation.

The Black Panther would be an ideal film adaptation, of course, I am referring to another of Stan Lee's memorable superheroes. With global warming on the rise, it would make sense to bring Black Panther to the cineplex. The Black Panther could be an ideal candidate to battle global warming. My obvious choice for the casting would be Djimon Hounsou, especially after his performance in Blood Diamond.

Bouddica/Boadicea would be a fantastic motion picture event. Queen Bouddica was the leader of the Iceni tribe around AD 60 or 61, who led a revolt against the romans, after they brutally raped her daughters in front of her. With the success of 300, it would not be a surprise to discover someone is inking an adaptation as we speak. Okay, so this is not a remake. However, it would be an adaptation of historic lore about Queen Bouddica and her mighty Iceni tribe. Therefore qualifying this as an unoriginal concept, since it actually happened. I seem to focus on Tilda Swinton for this role, especially after her performance as the White Witch in Narnia. Tilda would give us an electrifying performance as Bouddica.

With the right script, any of these could be blockbusters in the cineplex. There will be plenty more remakes to come, so please stay tuned.

jaws being brought back would be huge. astoria, or. would be a choice spot with the mouth of the columbia river right there makin a story fit would be easy the town is based on fishing there would be a ton of marine life a shark could survive on without migrating for food to get the size of a jaws including sealions salmon sturgeon and schools of tuna few miles into the ocean. till the shark turns on to people cause we would be the only competition for food. i can picture hundreds of boats out during sturgeon season being harrassed by a gianormous shark rockin boats unseen knockin people out leaning over to net their catch and suddenly filling the waters with gore no corpse to explained what happened so people keep fishing since they dont know of the dangers.

The only remake I would love to see right now is Harvey. I honestly could see Tim Burton and Johnny Depp making it work really well. I love Jimmy Stewart, and Harvey is such a funny movie, and sweet...before its time. Mr. Depp could play that role very very well. As long as he keeps the "mad hatter" at bay.

HOW ABOUT THE WRAITH 80'S FILM ABOUT A VENGEFUL SPIRIT RETURNING TO HUNT DOWN HIS KILLERS, PLAYED BY CHARLIE SHEEN IN THE ORIGINAL SHIA LEBOUF WOULD BE A GOOD CHOICE AND WOULD GIVE DODGE THE CHANCE TO CREATE ANOTHER MG4S TURBO INTERCEPTOR IF THEY'D BE KEEN ON THE IDEA ("WHAT A CAR MAN"), ALSO A 90'S FILM CALLED GHOST IN THE MACHINE COULD PROFIT FROM THE HIGH BUDGET EFFECTS TODAY HAS TO OFFER IT. IT'S A STORY ABOUT A PHONE BOOK KILLER WHO'S SPIRIT IS HELD IN THE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK AND TRAVELS FROM PLACE TO PLACE KILLING ANYONE NEAR HIM IN A BID TO TRACK HIS LAST PHONEBOOK VICTIM SOMEONE LIKE TIMOTHY OLYPHANT WOULD MAKE A GOOD PHONEBOOK KILLER ROLE AND HAVE SOMEONE LIKE EWAN MCGREGGOR AS THE HACKER OR LIAM NEESON SOMEONE SORT OF LATE 30'S TO EARLY 40'S AS PORTRAYED IN THE MOVIE.
