Entertainment News:
Remember the TV show "Bat Masterson"? - The star of that show, Gene Barry, died Wednesday at age 90 of unknown causes. He had performed in 'Soldier of Fortune' with Clark Cable in 1955. He also appeared on 'Our Miss Brooks', he sang in musicals on Broadway and did a little of everything in show business.
TV Happenings:
There are all kinds of shifting and moving of hosts, co-hosts, and anchors on the TV news shows. ABC has chosen George Stephanopoulos to replace Diane Sawyer on "Good Morning America". The appointment of Stephanopoulos was made public on Thursday. He will begin on the morning show on Monday beside the current co-anchor, Robin Roberts. Sawyer is becoming the "World News" anchor as Charles Gibson retires. GMA is ranked #2 of the morning news shows. Just like in golf, you can't tell the players without a score card anymore when it comes to the news shows!
A Story with some Meat Behind it:
A 53 year old Florida woman must not realize how expensive a steak really is. What else would explain why she would she repeatedly hit her boyfriend in the face with one....why you ask? Are you ready for this...he wanted a roll and she gave him a slice of bread. He refused the sliced bread, again asked for a roll. That's when the beef came into play. She then continued to slap him in the face with her hands. She admits to the slapping, but says she didn't 'steak him'. She will appear in court in January and it will be interesting to find out what the judge slaps her with!
Winter:
Winter sure is exploding all across the United States. For all of you out there who are dealing with the ice, snow, drifting show, winds and far below zero temps - please be careful outside. Stay in, stay warm and stay safe.
The South Carolina Soap Opera:
Governor Mark Sanford of South Carolina wants to reconcile with his wife. Jenny Sanford sounds like a smart lady, and if that's true she can live a happy and rewarding life without the title of First Lady of South Carolina.
Speaking of Affairs:
Jamie Jungers spoke her piece on The Today Show this morning. She explained how she met Tiger Woods and partied the night away, literally. She said she had a crush on him for years before that and was honored that he wanted to meet her. That meeting began their 1 ½ year affair and in that time she said she never took money or gifts from him, nor was she ever a paid escort. She said Tiger never so much as gave her a birthday card. At one point she was in a financial bind and asked him if he could help her out and he said 'no'. She broke up with him at that point. She knew all along he was married but it didn't seem to mean much to her. It didn't appear that she had any remorse for her part in all this but she did come across as a little angry - maybe angry that she wasn't the love of his life!

Post a CommentGreat recap, thanks for the news!
Yesterday when I opened the paper and saw that Gene Barry had died, I said "Awwww!" He was an icon of my childhood.
Just before I got to the last page I was about to ask "where is the Tiger Woods coverage?"
These quickies are a treat to read.
I am sad to hear Gene Barry has passed away. He was a favorite here in Oz. I watch Good Morning Australia as I am coming out of sleep. Don't know where Diane Sawyer is going. Love the quickies news items. Well done!
I just love quickies. I mean news quickies...
Tiger just announced he is leaving golf indefinitely. Golf is the one thing he hasn't screwed...up.
well I am in Canada and you know that we have winter here brrr
Thanks Abby!
I can't understand the big obsession with Tigers sex life? It's not as if he treats his blondes like OJ Simpson did. At least Tiger's blondes can still tell their side of the story after the date. Add a Comment
