Air France - Hot News Quickies, June 5, 2009
The debris found in the ocean is not that of flight 447. Officials do not know where the debris came from. They also said the oil slick on the ocean's surface did not come from the airliner, but from a ship. One of the possible causes of the crash may have been air speed. The tracking of air speed for the plane suggests that the wrong speed let to a chain of events that brought the plane down.

Event - Hot News Quickies, June 5, 2009
Today is National Donut Day. It is celebrated the first Friday in June by donut shops giving away free donuts. It started in 1938 as a fund raiser for the Salvation Army in Chicago. A legend has spread that the provision of doughnuts to US enlisted men in WWI is the origin of the term doughboy. Doughboy is a term used to describe US infantry. However, the term was used as early as the Mexican-American Way of 1846-47. You decide! I think people just want an excuse to eat donuts today! Rumor is that donut shops are giving away free donuts today, so check with your local donut joint! Krispy Kremes is participating - one free donut per customer while Dunkin' Donuts is giving a free donut with purchase of a coffee!

Mars is only allowing four coupons per family for the entire promotional period. If you get in on time you will receive a confirmation e-mail from Mars.

Sports - Hot News Quickies, June 5, 2009
I was anticipating the third jewel of the Triple Crown, but once I found out Rachel Alexandra wasn't racing I lost a little interest. But I have a feeling that come tomorrow evening I'll turn it on anyway. The Rachel Alexander team made the decision to let her rest a while longer. Mind That Bird, the Derby winner, is the favorite for the Belmont. Since I'm a chocolate addict I will have to be for Chocolate Candy.

Summer - Hot News Quickies, June 5, 2009
Remember that school is out for summer in many parts of the south and will soon be out all over the United States. Watch out for kids on bikes and scooters in the roadways. They have a tendency to 'forget' to look, so be prepared!

Louisville, KY - Hot News Quickies, June 5, 2009
A pastor of New Bethel Church is asking the members to help celebrate July 4th and the second amendment by bring their personal, unloaded guns to church. This will take placed Saturday, June 27th. They will have a handgun raffle, patriotic music and information on gun safety. ccording to the pastor, they are going to celebrate the upcoming theme of the birth of our nation according to Pastor Ken Pagano. He said that they are not ashamed to say that there was a strong belief in God and firearms, without which this country wouldn't be here. This event was planned months ago and not because of the recent shooting death of the abortion doctor.

Have a good weekend all!

I don't think I like that idea, of everyone bringing unloaded handguns to church. Someone's going to forget to take the bullets out, I just know it...

It's all very well for the good people of Kentucky to demonstrate their love of the 2nd amendment by packing heat in the Lord's house, but who, I ask you, is out there standing up for our THIRD amendment rights?
